Hey! Hi! ¡Hola! Me llamo Phoebe. I’m a journalism estudiante exploring and pushing her comfort boundaries. I’m a sophomore at the University of New Hampshire. I’m pursuing a double major in English/Journalism and World Cultures (Self-Designed Major). I’m also working towards a minor in Spanish.
I think that there’s nothing more powerful than a genuine smile.
My journalistic passion lies in travel, world cultures and travel writing. I hope to one day work for National Geographic Traveler, AFAR Media, Matador Network or Fodor’s Travel. I want to report on gritty news, “hard stuff.”
I’m incredibly interested about social/digital media and the role it plays in the life of a journalist. As a student, I’m learning about the impact that digital elements have on our lives each and every day.
At UNH, I spent my Monday and Thursday nights in the newsroom as a design editor for The New Hampshire.
But this Spring 2014, I’m relocating.
From Febrero to Julio 2014, I will be in Valparaiso and Viña del Mar, Chilé, studying language, culture and life. I’m studying abroad.
This blog is meant to track my daily happenings, the stories I unearth and ultimately any and all adventures while studying abroad in Chilé.
